Château Haut-Bailly 2010
The nose has filled out the mainly black fruits rich and the palate has depth of flavour. Firm in the middle structured tannins but under the mid firmness the mix of cassis and black cherry is sweet further enriched by liquorice and dark chocolate. Firm and tight on the finish but there is the feel of more fruit to show.

The nose is very black fruit dominated the palate has power and depth intensity of flavour the fruit enriched by dark chocolate and liquorice. There is balancing freshness purity with a mix of bilberry and bramble lighter at the back the tannins still firm but it fills out on the finish with depth of flavour.

Under the floral mix on the nose there is a brooding power with a lot of ripe black fruit and the start of the palate is sweet and rich. Black fruits, cassis and black cherry are underpinned by black truffles and liquorice yet this richness is balanced by bilberry and bramble the finish focussed smoky peppery with a purity of flavour refined long and elegant.

Bright on the nose with a mix of fresh black fruits the start of the palate is light and fresh. Under the bilberry there is some sweetness and richness with cassis and black cherry but at the back the sweetness tends to be held back by tannic firmness and bilberry freshness.

The nose is still quite closed the start of the palate firm but it opens up in the middle with sweet ripe black fruits. Black cherry richness a hint of liquorice and coffee is supported by firm tannins the back palate has depth of flavour the finish though lighter long stylish elegant.

The nose is deep lots of brooding black fruits the start of the palate rich with fleshy black plum, some black cherry all backed by slightly fresher bramble. Sweet and ripe fruited in the middle ripe tannins help the suppleness with at the back depth of fruit a powerful mix of flavours.

The nose is closed the start of the palate tight with a mix of black fruits cassis and black cherry. The mid palate is sweeter fruited then towards the back firm tannins tend to hold back fruit expression and tighten the finish.

The fruit is ripe the nose full of sweet flavours. The mid palate has a supple fleshiness but towards the back the tannins are more in evidence quite firm giving a tighter feel to the finish.

Bramble, black cherry and bilberry give freshness on the nose and the start of the palate. There is a sweeter feel on the mid palate still very black fruit in character and although towards the back it is firmer the finish has depth and richness of ripe fruit.

The nose has some sweet fruit and the palate depth of flavour the black plum backed by slightly firmer fresher black cherry. There is sweetness at the back the finish though fresher lighter with old leather and minty bramble.

The nose has a smoky charm fragrant with hints of violets and although the start of the palate is rich black fruited lots of ripe cassis and black cherry there is an underlying freshness layers of flavours that give lots of complexity. The back palate has nice depth and the finish has length.

Although the nose is quite firm there is an underlying freshness bilberry and bramble to the fore. The start of the palate is sweet quite rich and supple but towards the back it’s lighter and just beginning to dry.

The nose is smoky fragrant with a mix of black fruits lots of cassis and black cherry. The palate has depth of flavour black olives and liquorice the richness balanced by fresher fruit towards the back. The slightly lighter finish has lots of charm.
