Mercurey “Clos Rochette 2013

Crisp on the nose the start of the palate is apple fresh with sweeter flavours greengage and pineapple enriching the mid palate. The finish is lighter with more of a citrus character.

Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 2012

94 2015-21

Rich on the nose the start of the palate has depth of fruit ripe melon and fleshy greengage. There is a balancing freshness lighter towards the back the finish mineral and flint driven flavours that linger.

Meursault 1er Cru Blagny 2012

92 2015-20

Fresh on the nose the start of the palate is light fresh an apple and lime mix. The mid palate has more depth rich fruit fleshy melon but towards the back the citrus takes over the finish fresh with an attractive mix of flavours.

Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2012

The nose is light fresh with an attractive mix of flavours misleading as the palate has power richness depth lots of ripe melon and greengage. There is mid freshness a feeling of youth with rich fruit coming through filling out the back palate and giving sweetness on the finish.

Although black fruited the nose is fresh and the start of the palate light. Cassis and black cherry give more depth in the middle rich fruit ripe fruit but towards the back freshness dominates with the finish youthful and tight at the moment.

Volnay 1er Cru Fremiets 2012

92 2016-27

Domaine Faiveley

The nose is light with fresh red fruits and the palate is dominated by red cherry and mulberry. There is mid sweetness more depth the sweetness balanced by the freshness that shows on the back palate. The finish is long with flavours that linger.

Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Porêts-Saint-Georges 2012

Red and black fruits give lots of complexity the black fruits tending to dominate the start of the palate. The tannins are fine the mid palate supple then fresher towards the back with hints of hazel nuts behind the fruit.

Gevrey-Chamberting 1er Cru Combe aux Moines 2012

93 2017-28

Lean on the nose with an austere start to the palate mineral driven black fruits to the fore. It fills out in the middle concentrated with depth of fruit rich at the back the fruit supported by ripe tannins. The finish has length slightly lighter and sleek.

Echézeaux Grand Cru 2012

95 2018-30

Domaine Faiveley

Powerful flavours ripe black fruits the nose has depth the palate richness. The mid fleshiness suppleness is underpinned by tannic structure supporting but not dominating. Black fruits cassis and black cherry enrich mid palate and although the back palate is tight at the moment the finish has richness.

Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru 2012

Rich fruit on the nose there is a lot of fleshy black plum on the palate. Brooding richness the mid palate has depth of flavour lush and supple with ripe tannins. There is a fresher streak at the back bilberry and bramble but the finish is rich with depth of flavour.
