Chablis Rèserve de Vaudon 91 2013-16

Minerals and flint lime and lemon give freshness the nose racy and crisp. The mid palate has more depth sweetness of flavour a hint of greengage then at the back the minerals and flint come through lovely and crisp with lingering length.

Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre 92 2014-19

The fruit is fresh the nose very citrus driven and the palate has lots of crunchy apple and limes. The mid palate has depth sweet fruit the richness of the flavours filling out the back palate but under this the mineral mix the flint chalk and citrus refresh.

Mâcon-Lugny 89 2013-16

The nose is crisp and the palate racy fresh with lots of citrus. Sweet fruit comes through towards the back a little more weight and depth but the finish has lots of minerals and lime chalky and fresh.

Saint-Vèran 90 2013-16

The fruit is fresh lots of citrus and apple but under this there is some richer fruit greengage and melon. Although there is lots of sweet fruit the overall feel is one of freshness lovely grapefruit and apple mix.

Rully 91 2013-16

The nose has depth with ripe greengage and honeyed melon a mix that gives a fruity start to the palate. There is a balancing freshness with lime and crisp apple but it is the richer flavours that are there on the back palate and finish. The depth of fruit makes It an ideal partner to the more strongly flavoured fish and if you enjoy white with chicken and turkey this is the wine one that would even stand up to pheasant in season.

Meursault 92 2015-20

There is a lot of rich honeyed fruit on the nose honeydew melon and ripe pears. The mid palate is showing youth fresh with crisp apple layers of flavour a complex mix. There is a good weight fruit at the back that will fill out more with time.

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières 93 2015-19

It is sleek racy with lots of fresh fruit citrus and apple yet under this greengage enriches filling out the mid palate and giving some weight at the back. The finish has the raciness of the nose flint and mineral fresh fruit lovely long and elegant.

Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet 96 2015-21

Ripe fruit gives a lovely depth of flavour on the nose and a fleshy rich start to the palate. Honeydew melon ripe greengage gives power and depth of flavour in the middle yet there is some apple some grapefruit that refreshes the mid palate the finish although packed with fruit has an elegant length.

Red Wines

Rully Rouge 90 2014-19

Redcurrant refreshes the nose lovely and bright but the start of the palate is richer more of a red cherry character. The fruit feels sweet the tannins fine and although fresher towards the back the finish has good depth of flavour.

Savigny-lès-Beaune Clos des Godeaux 91 2014-19

Black fruits are to the fore the fruit ripe sweet with a nice depth of flavour. There is a balancing freshness some mulberry and redcurrant and this gives a slightly lighter feel on the back palate and finish.

Volnay-Santenots 1er Cru 92 2014-20

The nose has depth and richness of fruit some ripe fleshy mulberry some strawberry the suppleness helped by rounded tannins. There is structure freshness on the back palate but the overall feel is one of sweet fruit.

Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves 92 2014-20

There is all the richness of ripe fruit on the nose with the sweetness of the flavours enriching the mid palate. Bramble and mulberry give a lovely complexity of flavours and although fresher towards the back the finish is rich ripe and sweet fruited.

Chambolle-Musigny 92 2014-20

The nose is light fragrant red fruited and the start of the palate is the same fresh with more of a red fruited influence. It fills out in the middle sweet ripe fruit quite fleshy and rich yet the back palate and finish have the lightness and freshness of red fruits.

Gevrey-Chambertin 92 2014-20

The black fruits on the nose and palate are firm all a bit tight yet under the fresh flavours there is richness some ripe fruits a nice depth of flavour. Although on the mid palate the tannins are more obvious giving a firm structure there is lots of sweet ripe fruit at the back.

Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbè 94 2015-22

It is lush ripe fruited a lovely depth on the nose and fleshy richness on the palate. Ripe mulberry is backed by black plum all balanced by fresher flavours towards the back the layers of fruit giving lots of complexity. The finish has richness yet elegance and length.

There is a lot of ripe fruit a fleshy richness on the nose and sweetness on the palate. Red fruits refresh the mid palate the layers of sweetness and freshness giving interest and complexity. There is structure but lots of ripe rich fruit underneath.

Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Procès 93 2015-21

The mainly black fruits are firm the nose a bit tight but it opens up on the palate with lovely sweet rich flavours. There is a mix of fruits at the back some fresh red with richer sweeter black layers of interest. The finish has depth and richness sweetness of fruit.

Red fruits are backed by black the nose is fresh with a mix of fragrances. The fruit feels ripe the mid palate has depth and a fleshy richness but then towards the back there is more freshness with a strong red fruited influence.

Echézeaux Grand Cru 95 2015-22

The nose has a brooding depth the palate starts with a strong black fruited influence but behind the power red fruits refresh lift the flavours and give a lighter feel towards the back. The finish though has a strong black fruited character and richness of flavour.

Musigny Grand Cru 97 2015-23

Power yet elegance the nose has rich fruit yet red fruited freshness at the back. The black fruits on the palate are rich ripe the palate supple and fleshy the richness of the flavours packing out the back palate. There is real charm the richness and power beautifully balanced the finish has length and elegance.
